Zed connects remote MCP servers through context_servers in settings. With no auth header configured, Zed prompts you through the standard OAuth sign-in.
Connect Screenies to Zed
- Add Screenies to settings.json:
{ "context_servers": { "screenies": { "url": "https://screenies.app/mcp" } } } - Or use Settings, then AI, then MCP Servers, then "Add Remote Server". Sign in when Zed prompts.
Leave out any Authorization header so Zed runs the OAuth flow.
Sign-in uses OAuth: Zed opens a browser window where you log in to Screenies and approve the connection. No API keys, and you can revoke access anytime from your Screenies account settings. Reference: Zed MCP docs.
