Getting started

How do I create my first App Store screenshot set?

Sign in with Google, create an app, upload the screenshots you took of your app (raw phone screenshots are fine), and describe what the app does and who it is for. Choose how many slides you want, from 1 to 10, and generate. The set arrives as PNG files sized for App Store Connect.

What should I upload as source screenshots?

Upload plain screenshots taken on an iPhone, one per screen you want to show. Screenies places each one inside an Apple device frame in code, so no bezel, background, or caption needs to be in the file. Clean, real UI works best because the interface is never redrawn.

Which App Store sizes does Screenies export?

Every set exports at an exact 6.9-inch iPhone size that App Store Connect accepts (1320 x 2868, 1290 x 2796, or 1260 x 2736 pixels), as PNG with no transparency. Apple scales that set down to the smaller iPhone displays. iPad and Google Play sizes are not shipped yet.

Can I change a screenshot after it is generated?

Yes. You can edit the headline, toggle the ratings badge, and swap which source screen sits in the device frame without regenerating the whole set. Editing or regenerating one screenshot costs 0.75 credits. Reordering slides, saving, and downloading are free.

How do I localize a set for other App Store countries?

Localization re-composites translated headlines onto the artwork you already generated, so the design stays identical across locales. It costs 0.10 credits per size. Active subscribers get the first 500 localized sizes per workspace per rolling 24 hours free.

Credits and billing

How much does Screenies cost?

The subscription is $29 a month for 15 credits, or $249 a year for 180 credits. One-time packs run from Starter at $9 for 12 credits to Studio at $39 for 75 credits. One credit generates one screenshot. Full details are on the pricing page.

Do credits expire?

No. Credits from packs and from subscription invoices never expire, and packs work without a subscription.

How do I cancel or change my subscription?

Open your workspace Billing page in the dashboard and choose Manage subscription. That opens the Stripe billing portal, where you can cancel, switch between monthly and yearly, or update your card. A cancelled subscription stays active until the end of the paid period and the credits you already received stay in your balance.

What is your refund policy?

Credits spent on failed generations are refunded to your balance automatically, so you only pay for screenshots that actually generate. Credit packs and subscription invoices are non-refundable once credits from that purchase have been spent, except where the law requires otherwise. If something went wrong with a purchase, email support and include the workspace name.

Where do I find invoices and receipts?

Stripe emails a receipt for every payment. Past invoices are also available from the Stripe billing portal, reached through Manage subscription on the workspace Billing page.

Generation problems

A screenshot failed to generate. Was I charged?

No. A failed screenshot refunds its credit to your workspace balance automatically. You can retry the failed slides from the set without paying again for the ones that succeeded.

The headline is wrong or too long. Can I fix it?

Yes. Use the headline edit on that slide and type the copy you want (headlines are capped at 48 characters). The headline is composited in code, not painted by the image model, so an edit changes only the text and keeps the artwork.

Why does the generated screenshot not look exactly like my app?

The screen inside the device frame is your uploaded screenshot placed pixel for pixel. The image model paints only the background art and never redraws your interface. If the screen looks off, check the source screenshot you uploaded for that slide and swap it from the slide editor.

App Store Connect rejected the upload. What should I check?

Screenies exports flattened PNGs at an accepted 6.9-inch size, so a rejection is usually a mismatched device slot in App Store Connect (drop the files into the 6.9-inch display slot) or a content issue under App Review guideline 2.3.3, such as showing features the app does not have. The requirements page lists the common rejection reasons.

MCP server and AI agents

How do I connect Screenies to Claude Code or Cursor?

Add https://screenies.app/mcp as a remote MCP server. In Claude Code, run: claude mcp add --transport http screenies https://screenies.app/mcp, then sign in when the client asks. The MCP server is included with every account and spends the same credits as the dashboard.

Which tools does the MCP server expose?

Listing apps, requesting screenshot uploads, generating a set, checking batch status, regenerating failed slides, editing headlines, reordering slides, localizing a set, generating a logo, setting brand colors, and reading the credit balance. The agent only sees workspaces and apps your account can access, and you can revoke its access at any time.

Account and workspaces

Can I invite teammates?

Yes. Apps and credits belong to a workspace. Invite teammates from workspace settings and they generate from the shared balance. Owners manage billing, members, and workspace settings.

How do I delete an app or a workspace?

Delete an app from its settings page; its generated sets are removed with it. Owners can delete a workspace from workspace settings after typing its name to confirm. Deleting a workspace removes its apps, sets, and any unused credits, so spend or move what you need first.

How do I delete my account and data?

Email support@screenies.app from the address you signed in with and ask for deletion. We remove your account, uploaded screenshots, and generated sets, except for records we must keep for legal or accounting reasons. The privacy policy explains what is kept and for how long.
