Screenshot layout archetype
Text only
Adoption data from 1031 top-chart iOS apps analyzed in August 2026.
Definition
A screenshot with no UI at all: a headline, sometimes supporting copy or ratings, on a designed background. Across our corpus, 1% of analyzed screenshots use this layout.
How to use it
- Used sparingly as a set opener or closer: a bold claim, a social-proof panel, or an award panel.
- Apple allows it, but a whole set of text-only panels underperforms because shoppers want to see the product.
- Best as one panel in a set, carrying the single most important message you have.
